Spray Gallery signage
Henley-on-Thames · Art gallery
Matt Black supplied and installed Spray Gallery’s shopfront signage in Henley-on-Thames, with custom-colour 10mm Foamex lettering, a projecting sign and window graphics, followed by ongoing print support.
Getting the details right from the start.
When Sam was preparing to open Spray Gallery in Henley-on-Thames, he was starting his first business and struggling to find a reliable signage supplier. He had a clear vision for the gallery and needed someone who would take the time to understand it.
We worked through the project together over a series of discussions, considering materials, finishes and installation. Those conversations shaped a coordinated scheme for the fascia, windows and projecting sign.
Sam’s colour.
Made to match.
Colour was an important part of Sam’s brief. To achieve the finish he wanted, we sprayed the 10mm Foamex lettering in his chosen custom colour.
The blue letters stand clearly against the white fascia, with a coordinating projecting sign carrying the gallery’s identity along the street. Window graphics complete the frontage while leaving space for the artwork to take centre stage.
Considered for its surroundings.
The gallery’s conservation-area location was part of our early discussions. We advised Sam against backlit signage because of the potential complications in that setting, recommending a new trough light to illuminate the fascia instead.
We fitted the new fascia, window graphics and projecting sign, bringing the agreed materials and finishes together on the building.
Beyond the opening.
Our relationship with Sam has continued beyond the initial installation. Over the years, we have supplied print for his changing window displays, along with pavement signs and leaflets.
As the gallery’s displays change, Sam has a familiar supplier to turn to who understands his business, his chosen colour and the details that matter to him.
